KEYNOTE | Character Design and Concept Art – Pietro Scola Di Mambro

Concept Artist, Storyboard Artist, Poster Artist, and Matte Painter, Pietro Scola Di Mambro starts with drawing to bring characters, worlds, and imaginative visions to life for the big and small screen.

After graduating from the Scuola Romana dei Fumetti, he created the Character Design for the characters in Matteo Garrone’s Pinocchio, in collaboration with make-up artist Mark Coulier. From there, his career has taken him across major international film and television productions, including Io Capitano, Poor Things, Wicked, M – Son of the Century, The Witcher, and Dune: Prophecy.

More recently, he has worked on concept art for productions such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Batman 2, and The Mummy 4.

In his keynote at Heroes, Scola Di Mambro will explore the creative process behind Character Design and Concept Art: from the initial idea to the drawing, and ultimately to the creation of characters and visual worlds—imagining and bringing new heroes and antiheroes to life.
