Livia Borgognoni, Scenographer, Art Director and Decorator.
Born in Rome, she studied Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, graduating in 1980. In the same year she began her career as Assistant Scenographer and Decorator. Since 1987 he has worked as Set Designer, Art Director and Decorator for films, commercials and television with national and international productions. Among the Directors he has worked with are Luigi Comencini, Giuliano Montaldo, Dino Risi, Jean Paul Goude, Carlo Lizzani, Giulio Questi, Paul Weiland, Maurizio Sciarra, Giuseppe Bertolucci, George Lucas, David Frankel, Simon West, Eric Barbier, Marco Ferreri, Dario Argento, Francesca Archibugi, Marco Filiberti, Giovanni Veronesi, Gianfranco Cabiddu, Julien Landais, Catherine Hardwike. In 1999 he was Art director: Italy of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace by George Lucas; in 2010 Art director: Rome of The Barney Version by Richard J. Lewis; and in 2019 Art director: Venice unit of Spider-Man: Far from Home by Jon Watts. 1991 Ciak D'Oro nomination for Best Set Design in the film "La Casa del Sorriso" directed by Marco Ferreri. 2016 Dante Ferretti Award at Bif&st, Bari International Film Festival for the film "La Stoffa dei Sogni" directed by Gianfranco Cabiddu. 2017 David di Donatello Nomination for Best Set Design in the film "La Stoffa dei Sogni" directed by Gianfranco Cabiddu.
In 2017 Nomination at the Ciak D'Oro for best Scenography in the film "La Stoffa dei Sogni" directed by Gianfranco Cabiddu. Member of AMPAS, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science. Vice president of ASC, Italian Association of Set Designers, Costume Designers and Decorators. Member of the PDC, Production Designers Collective. Member of ARTSCENICO, European Federation for Costume & Production Design.
Livia Borgognoni's career will be celebrated at Heroes with the Heroes Master Award; attend the meeting on December 10, 2025.
