Walter Fasano: editor, director, screenwriter

Masterclass in Mounting by Walter Fasano (Suspiria, Latin America, Call Me By Your Name)

A graduate of DAMS at the University of Bologna and a graduate of the Centro sperimentale di cinematografia, Walter Fasano has been active in Italy since 1993 as an editor on films by Dario Argento, Luca Guadagnino, Marco Ponti, Maria Sole Tognazzi, Lucio Pellegrini and Ferzan Özpetek. He has also collaborated on the screenplay of some of the films he has edited.

In 2013 he signed with Luca Guadagnino the documentary Bertolucci on Bertolucci presented at the Venice Film Festival.

In 2018, the film he edited Call Me by Your Name, directed by Guadagnino himself, won the Academy Award for best non-original screenplay, written by James Ivory. He also stars in the film in a small cameo as the DJ at the famous party scene.
